Ronald Reagan is dead.

Wow, that's a man who played a big part in my growing up. I was an adamant anti-Reaganite. I even owned a t-shirt which said 'I hate Reagan'. Despite his many flawed policies and bumbling that took place during his two terms, I do believe that he deserves credit for steering the US through the Cold War and dealing with a real threat in a dangerous time. I believe that he also was a truly patriotic individual who saw great value in public service. However, our nation is not well served by a steward who does not have his hands on the wheel. The Iran/Contra affair was the origin of plausible deniability and could have had far worse consequences had the Oliver North gang not been up-ended. Rest in Peace Ronald Reagan...
